About Plasil

Plasil, a private limited liability company, registered near Ljubljana, Slovenia, was established in autumn 2020, by a team of optical fiber specialists, with the purpose to develop advanced technology and equipment solutions for fabrication of fiber preforms, using plasma deposition methods.

Plasil operates from a modern, well-equipped production facility with more than 1000 m2 of space in Logatec, Slovenia, shared with Bimespro, MCVD equipment suppliers. Production premises include laboratory space for prototype equipment with all the required infrastructure and ancillary equipment, for pilot deposition process operation, as well as for demonstration to customers, or custom preform fabrication.

Plasil also shares a recently-installed research laboratory with (LEOSS FERI Uni MB), located in Maribor, Slovenia, with operating MCVD system, special fiber draw tower and equipment for mechanical reshaping of glass preforms.

Plasil uses high quality parts and subsystems, with controlled origin, in construction of plasma fabrication equipment, as well as excellent local and international subcontractors for part machining. In cooperation with Blubit d.o.o., a software, automation and robot application development company from Ljubljana, Slovenia, Plasil incorporates advanced machine control systems, with features and options, adapted to specific requirements of the plasma deposition processes and machines.

Plasil is committed to development and supply of performant, state-of-the-art, plasma deposition equipment with solutions for academic, research and industrial environments, for high quality and economically feasible fabrication of special optical fibers. Plasil’s activities complement solutions offered by partners Bimespro and Blubit, active in the MCVD preform fabrication domain.
